Tech Crush Thursday: Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger
This week we are crushing on two of the most talked about guys in the tech world right now: Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the founders of Instagram. Mike and Kevin founded the app in 2009. Instragram had over 10,000 users within hours of being launched and has only gone up from there, now with about 4 million users. Inc.com has listed the Stanford grads on the list of 30 under 30.
Before Instagram, Kevin spent time as an intern at Odeo (which later became Twitter) and on the Corporate Development team at Google. Mike had interned on Microsoft’s PowerPoint team and then worked at Meebo as a user experience designer before joining the Instagram team. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard that recently Instagram was acquired by Facebook for a grand total of $1 billion.
How did our crushes celebrate? An extravagant weekend partying in Vegas of course! They were seen partying at the Wynn and Encore hotels and dining at Botero. DJs Deadmau5 and Avicii were among the group of people helping Kevin and Mike celebrate the Instagram success.
