Fashion Icon Friday: Nicole Richie

Today, with the amazing weather we’re having here in New York, we are loving the California girl style of Nicole Richie! Reality show star, mother, wife, comedian, fashionista, designer, business woman… this girl does it all!

Daughter of Lionel Richie, Nicole grew up in Los Angeles, and later went on to star in a reality show with childhood best friend, Paris Hilton. Since her days on The Simple Life, Nicole has become a known name in the fashion industry. Her jewelry and accessories line, House of Harlow 1960, launched in 2008, followed by an apparel line, Winter Kate, in 2010. And as if that wasn’t enough, Nicole also acts as one of the three mentors in NBC’s new reality show Fashion Star alongside Jessica Simpson.

Most recently, Nicole launched an exclusive fashion line with Macy’s Impulse department, which was sold in 100 select Macy’s stores as well as online. The collection reflects Nicoles 1960’s and 70’s inspired boho style.  It features feather prints, flowing shapes and earth tone colors. According to Macy’s CEO, Terry Lundgren, the launch of Nicole Richie for Macy’s, created more Twitter and Facebook activity than the department store had ever seen before.

Outside of her busy career, Nicole is the mother of two adorable children with husband Joel Madden. On a typical day, Nicole can be seen taking Harlow Winter Kate to and from ballet classes and playing with Sparrow James Midnight in the park. How this girl manages to balance everything and still look that good, is an accomplishment in itself!
